Last week we were notified that we had won the Spectrum Award 2016 City Beat News Customer Satisfaction Award. Why is this award so valuable to businesses? There are hundreds of websites posting feedback and ratings for almost everything on the market today. Millions of people are using these sites before deciding which businesses, products and services to trust. These sites are geared at protecting consumers, yet businesses’ reputations are left extremely vulnerable. A few years ago business owners needed help protecting their reputations, which are often too easily tarnished through false user review entries by competitors and disgruntled employees. In response, City Beat News established a unique rating system that establishes one comprehensive, unbiased rating for the entire year.
How are businesses rated? The fully staffed and highly qualified Ratings Division spends thousands of hours scouring the Internet to calculate business ratings. This annual score is based on all available resources including consumer-review websites and blogs, social networks, business-rating services, and industry resources to determine the top consumer-rated businesses throughout the United States. This is a very elite award with less than 10% of researched companies reaching award status.
Essentially, this means that YOU, our friends and clients, have given us this award, and we couldn’t be more thankful for your continued trust and friendship. Thank you for allowing us to to what we love the most. Thank you for rating us a five star Hillsboro Oregon Salon. We look forward to getting up and doing our jobs everyday because of YOU!
Thank you!

This first stunning style is what I like to call “Wings of Toilet Paper”. Straight from the Glamour Magazine webpage, it is clear and apparent that the new spring look is bits of paper pined to either side of the head. I really do love this look; it not only shows the Avant Garde and inspirational imagery of goddess like wings but the versatility of toilet paper. We can see simply by the smile on this young models face that this particular style has filled her with self-confidence and reassurance with a professional yet elegant look.
This second look is even more breathtaking than the first. Not only the hair accessory, which is worn in this case around the neck, but the cut and style itself. Nothing says “I cut my own hair” like the hack job that is those bangs. The bold and slightly understated choice to fashion the model’s own hair into a makeshift head scarf is genius! I call this look the Hair Hijab. If we look closely we can see that the accessory that pulls this whole look together is nothing more than a black and yellow zip tie, no doubt purchased at the local hardware store.

Melanie originally came to Ritual fresh out of cosmetology school and she did an apprenticeship with us, obtaining advanced training so that she could perform high level service for all of her clients. After her apprenticeship, she moved on to work at another local salon, and found her way back to us five years ago. All in all, Melanie has been at Ritual for seven years!!
