When I was 28 years old, I became the proud new owner of Ritual Hair Design. It was a scary and exciting adventure that I embarked on. Setting up a business and creating a salon environment that was inviting to my clients was something that I jumped into with enthusiasm.
Over the past 17 years, I have worked hard to give my all to you, my clients. My friends. Many of you have known me since before I opened the doors here and all of you I have grown up with. We have shared so many celebrations. Weddings, births, graduations, promotions. All of the great things in our lives have been shared in my chair, cutting and coloring your hair. We’ve shared the sad things in our lives as well. Loss of jobs, divorces, deaths, illnesses and all of the other challenges that living life brings, with hugs and tears and words of love and encouragement. All of the things that we’ve shared have filled my life and heart with the warmest and sweetest memories that I will cherish forever, and I thank you for that. It has been my greatest honor to be your stylist and your friend.
As all of you know, the past couple of years have brought many changes to my life. You’ve encouraged me and loved me through all of them, and thank you for that. Over the past 15 months, you’ve watched me travel back and forth to Las Vegas every week, so that I could continue to take care of you and Ritual, and so that I could work on growing my business in Las Vegas. I’ve gotten questioned nearly every day by my clients, asking when I’m going to make the permanent jump to Las Vegas. I have thought about doing that move, but I have never wanted to just leave you, my friends, behind.
Then I met Lyn Larson. Lyn moved here from Colorado where she had many years of experience, and started working for me in December and has shown not only a passionate enthusiasm for the hair industry, but a genuine care for our clients. She has proven herself to be honest and trustworthy and has an endless amount of energy for the work that is done here at the salon. Lyn has enthusiastically accepted the challenge of taking over ownership of Ritual and it was with my warmest blessing that I am handing over the reins.
I know that Lyn will work her hardest to take care of you with the same love and concern that you are used to getting, and she has the technical skill to make your hair look great. My greatest hope is that you will continue your relationship with Ritual and give her the opportunity to prove her skill and dedication to you, so that she can grow with Ritual, just as I did. If you already have an appointment scheduled, your appointment is still planned on. If you don’t have an appointment scheduled, please call and schedule one, and give Lyn the same love you gave me!
It is with humble thanks and sincere gratitude that I say owning this salon and taking care of you was a joy. I thank you for giving me the honor of taking care of you for all if these years, and thank you for your friendship.
With Love,
Shawn
Here is a message from Lyn:
My name is Lyn Larson and I am very proud and excited to be a part of Ritual Hair Design since 2016. And now I am even more excited to be the new owner of this great hair salon! This salon has been an important part of the life of the previous owner, Shawn Smith, for over 17 years. Now she is giving me her blessing in taking on this business and I want to express my gratitude to Shawn for her confidence in me that the Ritual Hair family will be well cared for with my warm and caring persona.
My skills: I have 19 years’ experience as an international hair stylist, having been trained in Australia and working in the salon for a master stylist who was a judge in the Miss Universe pageant. My specialties are creative haircutting and coloring, styling, and hair textures – womens, mens, young and old. I also have created real flavors and fruits hats for the beautiful ladies fashion competition each year at the Melbourne Cup horse race – a race much like the Kentucky Derby here in the United States.
My Goals: I always strive to help people I meet and find that they always believe and trust in me and my skills. I love to make a difference in people’s lives whether for their outer appearance or their overall physical health as I am a licensed fitness instructor as well. I always want my client to be looking and feeling their best!
My biggest source of pride is when I see a smile on someone’s face after I have help with them with a transformation. That for me is a job well done!
